The Federation is the sole sponsor of the sport of Taekwondo in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The federation was founded in 1976 and chaired currently by Mr. Shaddad Alamri. The federation, upon its establishment, was named as the Taekwondo, Karate, and Judo Federation, with Mr. Mohammed AlGulaish as president of the Federation. Karate and Judo were separated from the federation to be named officially as the Saudi Judo & Taekwondo Federation in 2000.
