About the player
He is Khamis bin Muhammad Al-Kinani Al-Zahrani, born in 1976 in the city of Taif, Saudi Arabia.
A former midfielder for Al-Ittihad Club and the Saudi national team, he is known as Picasso and is an international painter, because he is distinguished on the field and is proficient in passing and dribbling.
Khamis began playing football in the neighborhoods of the city of Taif, and in one of the sports tournaments in the city of Taif, honorary members of the federation, Major General Saleh Sonbol and Khaled Al-Buraq, saw him and were impressed by his level, and then negotiations began to move to the federation.
That match was the launch of the “Picasso of Saudi Football,” where he appeared at a very distinguished level, and many Al-Ittihad players say that the team had not played great football before that year due to the presence of a distinguished player linking the team’s lines.
Khamis then joined the first team when he was only 20 years old. This was in the 96th Asian Cup in the Emirates, which the Saudi team won, but Khamis did not participate due to the abundance of big stars in the midfield in addition to his young age.
Khamis Al-Zahrani continued to play with Al-Ittihad until he suffered a severe injury, which was a tear in the ligament in the year 1421 AH, which caused his long absence before he returned to spread his creativity again. Then in 1426 AH he announced his retirement from football at the age of no more than 30 years, and during his career with Al-Ittihad he achieved 17. championship.
